Whenever the beginning of the fly fishing season comes to Slovenia, it's time to find a place for the first day of fishing. In order not to be too crowded on the water, some of us go to smaller and lesser-known rivers or streams. Fishing in Slovenia is a hobby for many people, so the more commercial rivers are full of fishermen on the first of March. This year, a friend and I went to the Grosupeljščica stream, where we had great fishing. The Grosupelščica stream is a smaller stream that flows most of the time in a flat part and has little fall except at the beginning of the area. It is decorated with beautiful ponds and beautiful brown trout with the addition of rainbow trout. The only downside was that most of the fish were in the area that runs through town and there were really a lot of stocked trout, some of which looked more like tiger trout than brown trout. Nevertheless, the fishing was really nice and I will gladly return to Grosupeljščica.
